Aesthetic facial treatments involve applying a chemical peel agent (acid) or chemical peel solution (acid and Active) to the skin to promote regeneration and remodelling. Benefits include addressing acne, actinic keratosis, melasma, wrinkles, and pigmentation disorders.

Objectives:

• To get a fundamental understanding of available chemical acids used in aesthetic chemical peel treatments.
• To be able to differentiate between the different acid classifications and understand the functions these acids produce on and in the skin layers and cells.
• To be able to understand the melanogenesis process as well as skin aging and the factors that influence these skin disorders and how they can be corrected or alleviated.
• To be able to minimise any omplications that may arise from performing aesthetic  Chemical peeling treatments, by choosing the correct peeling agent and/or active and give appropriate advice and home-care.
• To understand adjunctive active additives added to chemical peel solutions to achieve a desired result for skin disorders and to implement this knowledge in an aesthetic facial treatments
